Spring is the most important time of year to check your roof in Middle Tennessee. Winter’s temperature swings stress seals and flashing, and our most severe weather — hail and straight-line wind — peaks from March through June. A quick check now heads off an emergency leak later.
What you can check from the ground
- Scan the shingles for missing, lifted, or curled pieces after winter winds.
- Look at the gutters for granule buildup (a sign of aging or hail-struck shingles) and make sure they are clear and draining.
- Check flashing and vents for anything visibly bent, rusted, or pulled loose.
- Walk the perimeter for shingle pieces or debris in the yard.
- Look up at the eaves and soffits for staining that hints at trapped moisture.
What to check inside
- Attic for daylight or stains. Daylight through the deck or dark streaks on the underside point to leaks or condensation.
- Ceilings and upstairs corners for fresh water stains.
- That musty smell in the attic — often a ventilation or moisture warning.
Leave the roof itself to a pro
Climbing a roof to inspect it is how people get hurt, and the most consequential damage — hail bruising, hairline wind creases, early flashing failure — is exactly what an untrained eye misses. Our free roof inspection covers the full system with photo documentation.
Get ahead of storm season
If your roof is in good shape, a little routine maintenance now — clearing debris, renewing cracked sealant, reseating loose fasteners — is the cheapest roof work you will ever buy. If winter left real damage, a prompt repair before peak storms keeps a small problem from becoming an emergency during the next downpour.
Whether you are in historic Franklin, Nashville, or Gallatin, spring is the window. Book your free inspection at (615) 300-6005 before storm season hits.
